Growers often rotate crops to improve the physical characteristics of the soil and/or to suppress soil borne diseases. Soil Fumigation suppresses soil-borne diseases better than standard practices which can lead to reduced rotation length and farming your better ground more often.

This grower in Santa Maria, California is already laying the groundwork for a productive strawberry harvest by prioritizing early soil preparation.

Start cleaning out nematodes and other soilborne diseases and you have healthier plants resisting disease and reducing topical pesticide use. Soil fumigation promotes healthier plants with stronger root systems that are better at mining nutrients.

This strawberry field in Oceano, CA was soil fumigated last fall and now it’s thriving! With harvest just around the corner, it’s a great example of how a healthy start leads to a strong finish.

Soil Fumigation immediately knocks back soil-borne disease giving plants their best start. Suppressed disease allows the native species to rebound in the soil. Trials with major universities have demonstrated an increase of beneficial organisms in soil that has been properly fumigated.

This strawberry field underwent soil fumigation by Trical last fall, resulting in robust, healthy plants that are now approaching harvest. The strong foundation below the surface has significantly contributed to this success.

Soil borne diseases attack plant roots making the root system and the plant weaker. Plants treated with Fumigants have stronger root systems and healthier plants that are better at mining for nutrients. The plant is able to find and take up the nutrients it needs. Growers have been able to cut back as much as 20% of the nitrogen used saving $50-100 per acre. Farming disease means wasted water and wasted nitrogen.
